Guide to Updating the Tor Browser Inside Gologin
Gologin uses the Tor core for its Tor browser profiles. Sometimes, you may want to manually update this core to the latest version to patch security vulnerabilities.
Regular updates are crucial for cybersecurity.
Note: This method is not officially supported by Gologin and may cause errors. The safest way is to wait for Gologin to automatically update the browser version. Please back up your Gologin folder before proceeding.
Steps to Follow
- Locate the Gologin folder: Find the Gologin installation directory on your computer.
- Find the Tor browser folder: Inside the Gologin folder, navigate to the directory containing the Tor core. It is usually located in a path like `\browser\orbita-browser-tor...`.
- Download the latest Tor Browser: Go to the official Tor Project website and download the latest 'Tor Browser Expert Bundle' for your operating system.
- Extract and copy: Extract the file you just downloaded. Inside, there will be a `Tor` folder. Copy the entire contents of this `Tor` folder.
- Paste and replace: Go back to Gologin's Tor browser directory (from step 2) and paste the content you just copied, choosing 'Replace all files in the destination'.
- Restart and test: Completely close Gologin and restart it. Create a new Tor profile to check if it works normally.
This update allows you to take advantage of the latest security patches from the Tor Project, but always be cautious as it might affect Gologin's stability.
