Guide to Buying on Amazon with Direct Shipping to Vietnam
Without needing intermediary services, you can personally order many items on Amazon and receive them in Vietnam. Here are the detailed steps.
Amazon has simplified cross-border shopping.
To get started, you need an Amazon account and an international payment card (Visa/Mastercard).
The Buying Process
- Create an account and update your address: Register for an account on Amazon.com. In the 'Your Account' section, add your Vietnamese shipping address accurately.
- Find products that ship to Vietnam: Not all products are supported. In the left sidebar filter, check the 'Ship to Vietnam' box under the 'Deliver to' filter. This will help you see only eligible products.
- Check the seller: Prioritize products that are 'Ships from and sold by Amazon.com'. These products have the highest reliability and clear shipping and return processes.
- Add to cart and checkout: Add the product to your cart. At the checkout step, Amazon will calculate and display the total final cost, including:
- Product price.
- Shipping & Handling fees.
- Estimated Import Fees Deposit: This is a deposit that Amazon collects to pay customs duties and taxes in Vietnam on your behalf. If the actual amount is lower, Amazon will refund the difference.
- Complete and track your order: Enter your payment card information and confirm the order. You can track your order's journey in the 'Your Orders' section.
Important Note
The total cost you see at the checkout page is the final cost. You will not have to pay any additional fees upon receiving the goods in Vietnam.
